Introduction
The Internet is potentially a powerful and valuable research tool,
but the sheer volume of information now available challenges students
with the need for quality control. Research on the Internet is a
guide to the discovery of scholarly, academic and essentially non-commercial
materials.
This module is designed to assist you to:
- find freely available, quality material on the Internet
- identify and locate specialist services across a broad range
of subject areas
- locate and assess subject-specific Internet resources
- evaluate Internet Resources for academic purposes
Students who require basic introduction to the use of Search Engines
and Search Directories are invited to access the Library's Information
and Technology Training Unit (ITTU) web page for details of face
to face (onsite) training sessions and copies of training handouts
available in pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format.
