Legal Information Skills
This tutorial, is designed to introduce students to legal information
skills and comprises:
Finding Case Law focuses on that body
of law created by judges when deciding cases. This tutorial will
assist you to:
- recognize the different types of law reports
- become familiar with styles of case citations
- find the text of a judgement
- access electronic versions of law reports
Finding Legislation focuses on the laws
made by the State and Commonwealth Parliaments of Australia. After
completing this tutorial you will be able to:
- access Bills in both print and online formats
- recognise and retrieve Acts in their original and/or amended
form
- access electronic versions of legislation
N.B Students would benefit from completing the generic
modules before attempting this tutorial.
