TimeBase

Parliament web sites are also good sources of current legislation.
These include:

Jurisdiction Internet address
Commonwealth Comlaw: http://www.comlaw.gov.au previously SCALEplus: http://scaleplus.law.gov.au
ACT
http://www.legislation.act.gov.au
NSW http://www.legislation.nsw.gov.au
Northern Territory http://notes.nt.gov.au/dcm/legislat/legislat.nsf?OpenDatabase
South Australia http://www.parliament.sa.gov.au/leg/5_legislation.shtm
Queensland http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/Legislation.htm
Tasmania http://www.thelaw.tas.gov.au
Victoria http://www.dms.dpc.vic.gov.au
Western Australia http://www.slp.wa.gov.au/statutes/swans.nsf

In addition to the above, the federal and NSW government sites offer links to resources specifically designed to aid in the location of subordinate legislation.

  • The Federal Register of Legislative Instruments (FRLI) (http://www.frli.gov.au). The FRLI is maintained by the Attorney-General's Department. It is designed to give public access to Commonwealth legislative instruments, explanatory statements and compilations of legislative instruments.

  • Access to NSW subordinate legislation is also available via NSW Legislation in Force. Mention has already been made of this site in the section on Finding Statutes. However this is an equally good resource for locating NSW subordinate legislation in force.
