Combining Keywords to broaden a search -
Boolean Searching

“How can I change my search to make it either broader or more specific ?”

Boolean Searching uses the Boolean operators and or or to combine search terms or keywords. This can broaden or narrow a search.

'OR'

chocolate or carob finds all records containing either chocolate or carob or both, producing a broader result.


'AND'

chocolate and adolescents finds all records in which both words occur. And retrieves fewer records ie. gives a narrower result.
